Uddhav Thackeray makes a big claim about his son, according to Devendra Fadnavis.

Mr Thackeray recently made claims regarding a conversation with Mr Fadnavis, a senior BJP leader. According to Mr Thackeray, Mr Fadnavis had expressed his intention to move to the Centre within the next two to three years. Mr Thackeray also mentioned that during a rally in Dharavi, he alleged that Amit Shah had visited the Thackeray residence to discuss an alliance with Shiv Sena, and at the time, Mr Fadnavis was made to wait outside while the leaders held discussions.

Furthermore, Mr Thackeray asserted that he was assured a shared chief ministerial post for a specific period between BJP and Sena-undivided. Mr Thackeray claimed that Mr Fadnavis had proposed grooming Aaditya for 2.5 years before making him the Chief Minister but Mr Thackeray expressed concerns about Aaditya’s experience. Additionally, he stated that when he questioned Mr Fadnavis about working under Aaditya, Mr Fadnavis indicated his willingness to move to Delhi.

These claims elicited a strong response from Mr Fadnavis, who accused Mr Thackeray of fabricating stories and losing his mind. He denied the assertions made by Mr Thackeray and emphasized that his only suggestion was to groom Aaditya for future leadership within the party. In response to Mr Fadnavis’ comments, Mr Thackeray criticized him for referencing “some room” during the discussion with Mr Shah, stating that the room of late Bal Thackeray should be respected.

Mr Fadnavis retorted by stating that Maharashtra’s socio-political landscape and development are not scripted like a movie, and warned Mr Thackeray against getting involved in such narratives. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also weighed in, accusing Mr Thackeray of lying and suggesting his motive for switching alliances. It should be noted that a split engineered by Mr Shinde led to the collapse of the Thackeray-led MVA government in June 2022.
