Neha Hiremath: Karnataka Murder Accused’s Father Demands Apology for “Love Jihad” Accusations

Neha Hiremath was stabbed seven times by Fayaz Khondunaik after she rejected his advances. Baba Saheb Subani, a school teacher and Fayaz’s father, told media that he was completely shocked and shattered by his son’s actions. He expressed his apologies to Neha’s family members, stating that she was like a daughter to him. He also revealed that he and his wife had been living separately for the past six years, and that Fayaz stayed with his mother and reached out to him for money when needed.

Fayaz’s father acknowledged that his son made a mistake, claiming that Fayaz and Neha loved each other and were in a relationship. He also mentioned that Neha’s family had contacted him around eight months ago to inform him that his son was troubling their daughter. Fayaz’s father strongly condemned his son’s actions and urged the people of Karnataka to forgive him. Meanwhile, the victim’s family demanded that the accused be hanged to death, insisting that their daughter was not in a relationship with Fayaz and that he stabbed Neha because she rejected his proposal.

This incident has sparked widespread condemnation and protests, with demands for capital punishment for Fayaz. It has also become a political issue in Karnataka, with the ruling Congress and opposition BJP engaging in a political slugfest. According to reports, Fayaz allegedly stabbed Neha multiple times and claimed that they had been in a relationship but she had been avoiding him of late. He was arrested immediately after the incident.
