He also expressed his habit of tolerating pressure and referred to it as a part of life, stating, “We usually face such pressure.” Mr. Kejriwal, who had been arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, went to court alleging deprivation of insulin since his arrest on March 21. His request for a video call with a private practitioner was denied by the special court in Delhi handling the case. In response, his Aam Aadmi Party held protests outside Tihar jail. Mr. Beniwal dismissed these allegations as baseless and vowed to comply with the court’s instructions. He emphasized that their responses to AAP’s allegations in court have been thorough, stating, “Whatever allegations AAP is making, we have answered them very well in court.” When questioned about the possibility of administering slow poison in jail, Mr. Beniwal counter-argued, “Do you think slow poison can be given in jail? Do you yourself think this is possible?” He also outlined the existing practice under the jail manual, explaining that when an inmate’s illness is severe, the advice is sought from a referral hospital outside the jail, which includes AIIMS, RML, and other hospitals.
