Mohan Yadav Explains Why His Children Do Not Reside at the Chief Minister’s Residence

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has prioritized his responsibilities to such an extent that his three children do not live with him in the official Chief Minister’s bungalow. He believes that focusing on family might interfere with his duties and lead to a “dilution” of his responsibilities. At 49, Mr. Yadav, a first-time Chief Minister, has a daughter and two sons, one of whom is studying in Bhopal, having completed his MBBS course and currently pursuing his MS. Mr. Yadav expressed concern that the environment in the bungalow might disturb his child’s studies and emphasized the importance of focusing on education. He also mentioned that his daughter, who previously studied MBBS in Bhopal, was also encouraged to live in a hostel.

Despite the potential perception of being too tough on his family, Mr. Yadav is firm in his belief, stating that toughening up and avoiding a sole focus on family is crucial in order to prevent a dilution of his responsibilities. He emphasized the need for vigilance as one gains more responsibility.
