Two Pakistani terrorists carried out a targeted attack on Monday evening in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri, resulting in the death of a government employee. The victim, Mohammad Razak, worked for the social welfare department and was shot outside his home in Shahdra Sharief. Despite being accompanied by his brother, who is a soldier in the territorial army, the terrorists managed to injure Razak, leading to his death in the hospital. The terrorists attempted to abduct his brother, but he escaped unharmed. The police disclosed that the perpetrators used a US-made M4 rifle and a pistol in the attack and have initiated a joint cordon and search operation with the army to apprehend the attackers. This incident follows the targeting of two non-locals in Anantnag and Herpora area of Shopian district. A migrant worker from Bihar was killed in a deliberate attack in Anantnag a week after a resident of Dehradun was shot at by terrorists in Herpora. Last year, Rajouri and Poonch experienced a spate of terrorist attacks resulting in the deaths of 20 army soldiers. Subsequently, the army deployed at least three more brigades in the region to prevent further attacks and safeguard the strategically significant area bordering Pakistan.
