BJP Leader Expelled for Criticizing PM Narendra Modi’s Remarks

Bikaner BJP Minority Morcha district president Usman Ghani has been expelled from the party after he made controversial remarks in a New Delhi news channel interview. Mr. Ghani criticized the BJP, predicting the loss of three to four Lok Sabha seats out of 25 in Rajasthan and condemned PM Modi’s comments about Muslims during election rallies.

He expressed disappointment as a Muslim and mentioned that when seeking votes in the Muslim community, people often question him about the PM’s remarks. Furthermore, Mr. Ghani highlighted the Jat community’s discontent with the BJP in the state, claiming that they voted against the party in Churu and other constituencies.

In response to potential actions by the party against him, Mr. Ghani expressed fearlessness. The BJP state disciplinary committee chairman Onkar Singh Lakhawat stated that Mr. Ghani’s actions aimed to “tarnish” the party’s image in the media, leading to his expulsion for six years.

The Bikaner Lok Sabha seat held its polls on April 19th while addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, PM Modi made controversial remarks suggesting that the Congress would “redistribute” wealth to Muslims if it came to power. PM Modi alleged that the Congress plans to distribute hard-earned money to “infiltrators” and families with more children, sparking backlash from several opposition parties.
