BJP Leader Expelled for Criticizing PM Narendra Modi’s Remarks admin, April 24, 2024 Bikaner BJP Minority Morcha district president Usman Ghani was expelled from the party following remarks he made during an interview with a news channel in New Delhi. In the interview, Mr. Ghani suggested that the BJP would lose three to four Lok Sabha seats out of 25 in Rajasthan. He also criticized Prime Minister Modi’s comments about Muslims during election rallies in the state. Mr. Ghani, expressing disappointment as a Muslim, stated that when he seeks votes from the Muslim community for the BJP, they raise concerns about the Prime Minister’s remarks and look to him for explanations. He further mentioned that the Jat community in the state is also upset with the BJP and has voted against the party in certain constituencies. In response to the video of Mr. Ghani’s statements circulating on social media, BJP state disciplinary committee chairman Onkar Singh Lakhawat accused Mr. Ghani of attempting to tarnish the party’s image in the media. Consequently, Mr. Ghani was expelled from the primary membership of the party for six years due to a breach of discipline. The expulsion occurred just before the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat went to polls in the first phase on April 19. This incident occurred following PM Modi’s rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, during which he suggested that if the Congress comes to power, it would “redistribute” wealth to Muslims, leading to criticism from various opposition parties.
