Hemant Soren: Investigators Say BMW Car Found at Hemant Soren’s Not His, Belongs to… admin, February 8, 2024 The car, according to sources, is registered under a firm owned by Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, who is a Rajya Sabha MP for the Congress from Jharkhand. Premises associated with Mr. Sahu were raided by Income Tax officials in December, leading to a recovery of Rs 351 crore in cash. The sight of tax officials counting the large sum of cash on TV screens shocked many and prompted the BJP to criticize the Congress. The Opposition party distanced itself from the cash recovery, claiming no involvement. Mr. Sahu emphasized that the money belonged to his firm in the liquor business and was unrelated to the Congress. The cash recovery operation took 10 days and required 40 currency counting machines. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the Congress MP for questioning on Saturday regarding his car found at Mr. Soren’s residence. Mr. Soren, who was apprehended last week, is under investigation for an alleged illegal land ownership change racket orchestrated by mafia in Jharkhand. He has denied the allegations and accused the BJP of manipulating probe agencies to destabilize democratically elected governments. ED officials found the BMW car during a raid at Mr. Soren’s Delhi home on January 29. The blue SUV bears a Haryana license plate. Dhiraj Prasad Sahu
