Why Election Commission Sent Notice to Party Bosses Instead of PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi for 2024 Lok Sabha Election

The Election Commission has issued press releases in connection with complaints against Prime Minister Modi and Mr. Gandhi. However, the press releases do not name the leaders directly, but the rival complaints against them are addressed in the poll body’s notice.

In a rally, Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of hatching a wealth redistribution plan, stating that it would survey everyone’s property, calculate gold belonging to mothers and sisters, and then redistribute it. He alleged that the Congress is “in the grip of urban Naxals” and criticized their manifesto, claiming it supports redistributing wealth among people who have more children and infiltrators.

The Congress, in turn, accused the Prime Minister of making false and divisive insinuations targeted at a particular religious community and attempting to mislead voters for “petty political gains.” They also highlighted the Prime Minister’s comments on the language and religion, accusing him of trying to create a linguistic and cultural divide for electoral gains.

The BJP, on the other hand, accused Mr. Gandhi of trying to create a linguistic and cultural divide and tarnishing the Prime Minister’s image. They also targeted Mr. Kharge, Atishi, and Mr. Surjewala with various allegations.

All these cases were directly addressed by the Election Commission in its notices to the leaders in question.
