Zimbabwean ex-cricketer narrowly survives leopard attack – a shorter written story.

Mr. Guy Whittall, a former Zimbabwean cricketer, recently suffered injuries from a leopard attack while on his reserve in Buffalo Range, Zimbabwe. He was quickly airlifted to Harare for emergency surgery.

His wife, Hannah Stooks Whittall, shared the news and photos of his injuries on social media, expressing gratitude for the well-wishes and the swift care he received at Hippo Clinic and during his airlift to Harare. Mr. Whittall runs a safari business in Zimbabwe and had been attacked while trekking through the conservancy he manages at Humani, Zimbabwe. This is not his first encounter with wild animals, as in 2013, he had woken up to find a large crocodile beneath his bed at the Humani lodge in Zimbabwe.

During his cricket career, Guy Whittall had served Zimbabwe in 46 Tests and 147 ODIs over a decade. His recent wildlife encounter had caused concern, but he was fortunate to have received prompt medical attention and is undergoing treatment at Milton Park Hospital.
