Indian General Election 2024: Richest Candidate in Phase 2 Has Rs 622 Crore, Poorest Has Just admin, April 25, 2024 In the 2019 elections, the ruling BJP-led NDA won 56 out of 89 seats, and the opposition UPA secured 24. HD Deve Gowda, contesting against HD Kumaraswamy, declared assets worth Rs 622 crore. Incumbent Karnataka Congress MP DK Suresh, the second richest candidate, possesses assets valued at Rs 593 crore and is seeking re-election from Bangalore Rural. Hema Malini, fighting for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, is the third richest candidate with assets worth Rs 278 crore. Sanjay Sharma, a Congress leader from Madhya Pradesh, is fourth on the list, with declared assets worth Rs 232 crore. Additionally, independent candidate Rajeswari KR from Kasaragod in Kerala, has assets worth Rs 1,000. Pruthvisamrat Mukindrao Dipwansh, contesting from Amravati (SC), is third on the list with total assets of Rs 1,400. Shahnaz Bano, a Dalit Kranti Dal leader, contesting from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, has declared assets worth Rs 2,000. VP Kochumon, fielded by the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) from Kerala’s Kottayam, is fifth on the list with assets of Rs 2,230. The completion of the second phase of polling marks the end of voting in Kerala, Rajasthan, and Tripura. In the first phase of voting on April 19, polling was completed in all seats of Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Lakshadweep.
