Indian General Election 2024: Richest Candidate in Phase 2 has Rs 622 Crore, Poorest has Just

The 2019 elections in India saw the BJP-led NDA winning 56 out of 89 seats, while the UPA secured 24. In Karnataka, incumbent Congress MP DK Suresh, with assets valued at Rs 593 crore, is seeking reelection. He is the second richest candidate in the race.

Hema Malini of the BJP, contesting from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, holds the third position with assets worth Rs 278 crore. Sanjay Sharma, a Congress leader from Madhya Pradesh, follows with declared assets worth Rs 232 crore. Other candidates also feature on the list, including independents and leaders from various parties, with substantial declared assets.

In the upcoming phases of the election, polling is set to conclude in Kerala, Rajasthan, and Tripura, following the completion of the first phase in states such as Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Lakshadweep.
