Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez is a lawyer and journalist from La Plata, Argentina. She made history by becoming the first woman her age to receive a prestigious honor, shortly after the Miss Universe organization eliminated the age restrictions for contestants. Formerly, only women between the ages of 18 and 28 could participate in the competition, but now, the age limit has been removed, allowing women over 18 to compete. Rodriguez expressed her excitement about representing this new paradigm in beauty pageants and emphasized the importance of values beyond physical beauty.

La Plata, where Rodriguez hails from, is the capital city of Buenos Aires Province.
