Siddaramaiah Establishes Team to Investigate Sex Scandal Involving JDS MP

Prajwal Revanna, the MP and Janata Dal (Secular) candidate from Hassan, is currently in Germany. Recent videos depicting alleged sexual acts in the Hassan district have sparked concern, with some women allegedly being forced or filmed without their consent. In response, the Karnataka State Commission for Women called for the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the matter.

Siddaramaiah, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, announced the government’s decision to form an SIT in connection with the Prajwal Revanna obscene video case. This decision was made in response to the request from the Women’s Commission. Mr. Revanna left for Germany on Saturday morning.

The alliance between JDS and BJP has brought the ruling party at the Centre into the spotlight, with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar demanding answers from them. He emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and countered accusations made by JDS leader and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, stating that he is prepared to defend himself against any accusations. The involvement of high-profile political figures has added complexity to the situation, with the Women’s Commission seeking accountability from the Chief Minister and the Home Minister.
