BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar recently met with Rohit Sharma to discuss the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad after the 43rd match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. According to a source from the BCCI selection committee, it is likely that Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul will be selected as wicketkeepers for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Additionally, it is anticipated that Shivam Dube will also be picked for the squad. Pant, the captain of DC, has shown an outstanding performance in IPL 2024, scoring 371 runs in 10 matches with an average of 46.38 and a strike rate of 160.60, placing him fourth in the list of orange cap holders for the ongoing 17th edition of the IPL.

Similarly, KL Rahul, the skipper of Lucknow Super Giants, is the third highest run-scorer in the ongoing IPL 2024, having scored 378 runs in nine matches with an average of 42 and a strike rate of 144.27. Shivam Dube has been impressive this season, showing hard-hitting form and establishing himself as a key player in CSK’s title defense.

In eight matches, Dube has scored 311 runs at an average of 51.83 and a strike rate of 169.94, with three half-centuries. India is set to play Ireland on June 5 before a much-anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9, with both matches scheduled to be held at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
