Election Commission requests AAP to adjust campaign song for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections; Atishi questions BJP.

The AAP has been in a conflict with the Enforcement Directorate regarding the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders linked to the Delhi liquor policy case. The AAP claims the case is fabricated and has alleged that the Election Commission (EC) has not taken action against poll code violations committed by the BJP.

The party released a song at its headquarters, which does not mention the BJP and was stated to not violate the model code of conduct by a party leader. However, the EC has requested modifications to the contents of the advertisement.

The Supreme Court is set to hear a plea by Mr Kejriwal challenging his arrest. Mr Kejriwal has expressed his views on his arrest, describing it as an “illegal arrest” and an assault on democracy’s principles.

He also criticized the mode, manner, and timing of his arrest just before the Lok Sabha elections, which he believes indicates the arbitrariness of the agency.
