Narendra Modi’s “Third Term” Pitch, South Push at Grand ‘Ahlan Modi’ Event in UAE

During a visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the expatriate Indian community for their role in strengthening the partnership between India and the Gulf nation. He emphasized the significance of “Modi’s guarantee”, assuring that it would consistently deliver results.

Addressing the “Ahlan Modi” event at the Zayed Sports City Stadium, which was attended by thousands of expat Indians, PM Modi hailed the friendship between India and the UAE. Highlighting the historic significance of the occasion, he spoke about the unity and sentiment echoing in the stadium during the national anthems of both countries.

PM Modi hinted at potential collaborations between India and the UAE, such as the introduction of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to facilitate direct money transfers and seamless payment transactions in the UAE. He also mentioned the significant growth in cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, including trade, defense, food and energy security, and education.

Acknowledging the role of expat Indians in fostering the bond between India and the UAE, PM Modi praised President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his contributions to the growing partnership. He referred to President Sheikh Mohamed as his “brother” and expressed gratitude for being honored with the UAE’s highest civilian award, recognizing it as an honor for the entire expat Indian community.
