According to reports, Congress party workers are upset that the leadership did not heed their request to not field someone they considered “unreliable” like Mr Bam. A Congress worker expressed his displeasure, stating that he had warned the party’s senior leaders about Mr Bam’s potential withdrawal under pressure from the BJP. He urged the party to nominate loyal, long-standing party workers instead. Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya shared a picture with Mr Bam, welcoming him to the BJP. Former Chief Minister and BJP nominee from Vidisha seat, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, commented on the situation, suggesting that even the candidates of the Congress were losing faith in their party and flocking to the BJP. He highlighted the lack of confidence in the Congress among leaders and workers. The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh are being conducted in four phases, with votes to be counted on June 4. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, with 10 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and 19 unreserved seats.
