Two people become sick after eating at Noida McDonald’s and Theobroma; investigation underway admin, April 29, 2024 The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) received complaints through its Food Safety Connect portal. One complaint was against a McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18, where a consumer fell ill after consuming a burger and french fries. In response, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) team in Gautam Buddh Nagar visited the outlet to collect samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise after receiving the complaint. Another complaint was lodged against Theobroma bakery in Noida Sector 104, where a woman fell sick after consuming a stale cake. The FDA team collected samples of the cake and sent them to the laboratory for testing. Assistant Commissioner (Food) FDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Archana Dheeran stated that if the product fails in the report, further action will be taken, and a case will be registered. According to Dheeran, the laboratory report is awaited and if the samples fail, appropriate action will be taken.
