The fraudster claimed to be from the Delhi Police and Customs and alleged that drugs had been transported using Joshi’s Aadhar Card. However, the scheme unraveled when the fraudster mistakenly mentioned “MMDA” instead of “MDMA,” exposing the fraudulent nature of the call. Following the call, Joshi wrote in a social media post that the scammer had stopped responding to his calls. These types of scams typically involve impersonating officials from Customs or law enforcement agencies to coerce victims into transferring funds to resolve the issue without legal repercussions. Joshi was able to hang up on the scammer without any financial loss, but many others have fallen victim to similar scams. In response to Joshi’s revelation, several users shared their own experiences with similar scams. One user recounted a similar interaction where the scammer panicked when asked to provide the full form of MDMA and subsequently hung up. Another user humorously claimed that they were informed about sending passports and ATM cards to Malaysia and receiving a shipment from Thailand to Bombay, both without their knowledge.
