Eknath Shinde Discusses “Game-Changer” Infrastructure Projects in Maharashtra admin, May 1, 2024 Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, highlighted several infrastructure projects during the launch of NDTV Marathi in Mumbai. These projects included the Atal Setu, Dharavi Redevelopment Project, and a steel project in Gadchiroli. Mr. Shinde emphasized his government’s focus on development and credited the alliance of BJP at the center and in the state for the progress. The Atal Setu, a 21.8-kilometer-long bridge connecting Sewri in Mumbai and the Nhava Sheva area in Raigad district, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January. The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, the Samruddhi Highway, and the Metro car shed were also cited as symbols of the government’s development work. Mr. Shinde mentioned the Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt, a joint venture of the Maharashtra government and the Adani Group, as the largest of its kind in Asia. The project aims to revamp one of the largest informal settlements in Asia, drawing inspiration from Singapore’s successful urban renewal projects. Additionally, the state government initiated a steel unit in Gadchiroli to curb Maoist activities in the area, providing employment to 10,000 people.
