Rupali Ganguly, TV Star, Joins BJP, Cites Impression by PM Modi’s Work admin, May 1, 2024 Tollywood actor Roopa Ganguly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the third-phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The event occurred at the party’s headquarters in Kolkata and was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including national general secretary Vinod Tawde. Ganguly expressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his work had attracted her towards the party, stating, “Seeing the ‘Mahayagya’ of development (development push) around me (under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi), I felt that I should also be a part of it,” to the media. She expressed her intention to follow in the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and serve fellow citizens in any role entrusted to her. Ganguly also conveyed her commitment to work under the guidance of Amit Shah and make her leaders and cadres proud. Following her induction into the party, Mr. Tawde took the opportunity to criticize the opposition over Samajwadi Party leader Maria Alam’s appeal for ‘love jihad’. Alam, while seeking votes for the INDIA bloc’s candidate from Farrukhabad Lok Sabha seat, called for a “vote jehad,” asserting its necessity in the current situation for the minority community to dislodge the BJP from power. Tawde highlighted their actions, stating, “This shows they are rattled,” and criticized their stance on the issue as contradictory.
