Arvind Kejriwal Runs Delhi Congress From Jail: Former MLA Who Resigned from Party

The Congress leader expressed discontent with the candidature of Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj in the Lok Sabha elections. Former MLA Naseeb Singh commented on the state of the Congress party, attributing its condition partly to the alleged “false propaganda” carried out by AAP against the Sheila Dixit government in Delhi and the UPA government in the Centre.

He mentioned that 30-35 ex-MLAs, who were part of the Sheila Dixit government in Congress, opposed the alliance with AAP due to the language used against them and the party’s leaders. Singh criticized the decision to ally with AAP, stating that the alliance had caused internal distress within the party, especially after Sonia Gandhi’s departure from leadership.

Additionally, Singh accused the Delhi Congress Committee of being influenced by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who he claimed was running the committee from Tihar Jail. He also raised concerns about Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj not representing Congress’ ideology, citing their failure to display Kharge ji’s picture.

Neeraj Basoya echoed Singh’s sentiment, criticizing the party’s alliance with AAP as “totally wrong, unrealistic and unnatural.” He expressed concern over the alliance’s impact on Congress workers and the public perception.

Basoya also mentioned the Aam Aadmi Party’s focus on Kejriwal and the absence of discussion on Congress promises or the Gandhi family in their alliance with AAP. He emphasized that the core issue with the alliance was the absence of Congress’ representation and mentioned the imprisonment of top AAP leaders.

The seat-sharing agreement under the INDIA bloc specified that the Congress would contest three seats in Delhi, while the AAP would contest four. The Congress nominated JP Aggarwal, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Udit Raj for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats, with the elections scheduled for May 25 and the results to be declared on June 4.
