Delhi LG VK Saxena criticizes AAP ministers for snubbing meetings call in letter to Union Home Secretary, Arvind Kejriwal.

The conflict between Delhi’s Lt. Governor VK Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, as reported, highlights a lack of cooperation from Delhi’s Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, and Public Works Department Minister Atishi.

The LG’s office criticized the ministers for engaging in public mud-slinging and refusing to attend meetings, citing the lack of cooperation as a hindrance to addressing issues with Delhi’s medical infrastructure and routine governance works. The AAP leaders, who are currently embroiled in a battle with the BJP over Mr Kejriwal’s arrest in an alleged liquor policy scam, were reported to have produced ‘orders’ from Mr Kejriwal, despite him being in custody of the Enforcement Directorate and then in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

This conflict comes amidst the ruling AAP’s protests over Mr Kejriwal’s arrest and less than two weeks before the Lok Sabha election. The ongoing conflict between the ruling AAP and the Lt.

Governor has previously manifested in disputes over the Delhi budget and the appointment of the city electricity body chief. Furthermore, the Lt.

Governor is reported to be proceeding in accordance with the law, independent of the need for guidance from the AAP. Meanwhile, the AAP, a member of the Congress-led INDIA opposition bloc, is vying for its first-ever Lok Sabha win from the national capital.
