Canada detains 3 Indian individuals for the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar; police release photos. admin, May 3, 2024 Last year, the killing of Nijjar was at the center of a diplomatic dispute between India and Canada, triggered by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s accusation of “Indian agents” being involved in the murder. India dismissed the allegation as “absurd” and “motivated.” The three arrested individuals, Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karanpreet Singh (28), had been living in Alberta as non-permanent residents for three to five years. Superintendent Mandeep Mooker, who leads the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, disclosed their details and the charges against them. The suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, as per court documents. The case is still actively being investigated, as Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Assistant Commissioner David Teboul explained in a press conference. He mentioned that there are separate ongoing investigations, not limited to the arrested individuals, and these efforts include probing any connections to the government of India. Nijjar, a Canadian citizen wanted in India on various terror charges, was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Surrey on June 18, 2023. Trudeau’s accusations against India led to a major diplomatic dispute with both countries expelling each other’s diplomats. India rejected Trudeau’s comments, alleging that such actions by Canada provide space for separatism, extremism, and violence. Surrey
