Amit Shah Takes Swipe at Congress for “Looting the Country for Many Years

Amit Shah criticized the Indian National Congress (INC) in a public address, stating that the party has engaged in dynastic politics by promoting family members to key positions. He mentioned Lalu Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, and Sonia Gandhi as examples of this practice and emphasized that it is ultimately the people who should decide who holds political seats, rather than it being reserved for certain families. Shah also attacked the Congress over its stance on Article 370, highlighting the party’s inaction on the issue while praising Prime Minister Modi for taking decisive action to abrogate the article.

He asserted that the government’s strong stance has curbed terrorism and emphasized India’s claim over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Further, Shah accused the Congress of corruption and asserted that the Modi government will prosecute those found guilty of looting the country. The speech also praised the development in Uttar Pradesh under the “double-engine” government of PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Mentioning infrastructure projects such as expressways, metro networks, medical colleges, a film city, and a toy park, he credited the state government for curbing crime. The attention has turned to Amethi and Raebareli, which have historical significance for the Gandhi family. These constituencies once held considerable influence, but the Congress suffered losses in the region in the 2014 and 2019 elections.

In the upcoming political contest, Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Rae Bareli, and the party’s close aide Kishori Lal Sharma is fielded against Smriti Irani in Amethi.
