Robert Vadra Contemplates Entering Politics from Amethi, Expresses Interest in Political Role

Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, hinted at his readiness to join politics “if people want”. He stated that he is receiving support calls from party workers across the country, including from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Vadra mentioned that he is getting support from party workers nationwide and that his posters have started appearing in various locations, reflecting the recognition of their hard work. Having been a stronghold of the Gandhi family for a long time, Amethi was won by Smriti Irani in 2019.

Vadra believes that the people of Amethi now seek to rectify the “mistake” they made in the previous election. He expressed confidence in their support, stating that they feel electing him would correct the error from the last election and ensure his victory by a substantial margin.

Vadra reiterated that he would not enter the political arena solely to challenge someone, despite facing allegations from Smriti Irani in the past. The 55-year-old businessman from Moradabad also pledged his full support if Rahul Gandhi decides to contest the elections from Amethi.
