Salary of India’s President and Prime Minister: What You Need to Know

Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for today at 7.15 pm at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Attendees are allowed to bring one person, with their expenses being covered. The President will receive free medical services and attendance, a rent-free furnished home, two free landlines, a mobile phone, and five personal staff members. The maintenance of the home will also be covered.

In the event of the President’s death while in office, the spouse will be paid a family pension at the rate of fifty percent of the pension admissible to the retiring President, for the rest of their life. Additionally, the spouse will receive free medical services for life. The perks awarded to the President include free accommodation, personal security, medical care, train and air travel, a landline connection, mobile phone service, and staff. These perks are also provided to a Prime Minister, along with a personal staff from the Special Protection Group (SPG) responsible for their security.

The Prime Minister also has access to an exclusive aircraft, Air India One, for official visits, and an official residence at 7, Race Course Road.
