UP Chief Minister Pledges to Persist with Crackdown on Mafia and Criminals

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, emphasized the need for the government and administration to be active and vigilant 24/7. During a law and order review meeting following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he instructed officials to prioritize the protection of the interests of every marginalized individual. Yogi Adityanath highlighted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and instructed officials to initiate Janta Darshan programs at district, range, and zone levels to build trust and transparency with the public.

He stressed the need to eradicate unethical transactions and discouraged the promotion of VIP culture. The Chief Minister also addressed the upcoming festivals, urging officials to ensure peace and harmony while respecting traditional faiths without encouraging new traditions. He specifically outlined guidelines for the upcoming Bakrid festivities, emphasizing the need to mark specific spots for animal sacrifice and to ensure that banned animals are not slaughtered.

He also instructed officials to establish a systematic waste disposal plan after the sacrifices. Yogi Adityanath cautioned against any actions that might hurt religious sentiments and instructed officials to prevent such incidents from occurring in the state. He underlined the importance of maintaining peace and harmony during upcoming festivals, including Ganga Dussehra, Bakrid, and the International Yoga Day.

The Chief Minister conducted a comprehensive review of the law and order situation through video conferencing with police commissioners, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and superintendents of police in all districts. He emphasized the need for active and efficient government and administration to ensure the welfare and safety of all citizens.
