PM Modi departs from G7 Summit in Italy and heads back home.

During his visit, PM Modi met top G7 leaders and Pope Francis on the sidelines of the summit. He also addressed an Outreach session of the G7 summit in Italy’s Apulia region. In his address, PM Modi emphasized the need to end the monopoly in technology and called for its creative use to establish an inclusive society, particularly focusing on artificial intelligence. He highlighted India’s early formulation of a national strategy on artificial intelligence and its significance.

PM Modi’s meetings at the summit included discussions with US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Macron, British Prime Minister Sunak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni, Pope Francis, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, among others. His meeting with Macron marked his first official bilateral meeting with an international leader since beginning his third term as Prime Minister earlier in the month. In addition to the G7 leaders, Italy extended invitations to leaders from 11 developing countries in Africa, South America, and the Indo-Pacific region to attend the summit.
