CSIR-UGC-NET Exam Postponed Due to Paper Leak Controversy admin, June 21, 2024 The joint CSIR-UGC-NET examination, scheduled between Tuesday and Thursday, has been postponed due to a paper leak issue. The National Testing Agency announced the postponement this evening citing “unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues.” The new schedule for the exam will be announced later through the official website. The Joint CSIR UGC NET exam is held for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Lectureship (LS), and Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges, subject to meeting UGC’s eligibility criteria. The Ministry of Education cancelled the UGC-NET exam on Wednesday, one day after it was conducted, because of concerns over the exam’s integrity being compromised. On the 19th of June, 2024, the Ministry of Education received information from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit about potential compromise of the exam’s integrity. As a result, the UGC chairman received this information and initiated an immediate decision to hold a CBI investigation. It was confirmed that the exam’s integrity had been compromised, leading to its cancellation. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who has been under scrutiny for issues related to NEET and the UGC-NET exam, announced the formation of a high-level committee to address these irregularities.
