Man Thought to Have Died Surprises Everyone by Appearing Alive at His Funeral in Telangana admin, June 25, 2024 The incident took place in Navandgi village in Basheerabad mandal of Vikarabad district, according to an official of the Government Railway Police (GRP) as reported on Tuesday. The man, P Yellappa (40), a daily wage laborer, was presumed dead after his family members were informed about his death, when a body was found with a mobile phone on it. The GRP personnel discovered the body of an unidentified person with a crushed and unrecognizable head on the tracks at Vikarabad railway station on the night of June 22. One mobile phone was found near the body, and police officials called up the family members from the phone, who then identified the phone as belonging to Yellappa. Yellappa’s wife and his family members reached the government hospital in Vikarabad on June 23 and “identified” the body to be that of Yellappa. After an autopsy, the family members were handed over the body, and they took it to their village. While the family and relatives were making burial arrangements, some villagers informed them in the afternoon that they had seen Yellappa alive in Tandur town of the district. Meanwhile, Yellappa also returned home to the surprise of the family members. His family immediately informed the GRP about the situation, who then retrieved the body and placed it in the mortuary at the government hospital in Vikarabad. The killed man was still unidentified at that point. Yellappa was examined by the GRP, and he explained that he had left home for work and someone had stolen his phone while he was sleeping at a bus stop in Tandur on June 20. His family members informed the police that Yellappa used to return home after a week or so of being away for work, as per the official. Regarding the unidentified man, the police stated that he was hit by a train while crossing the tracks at the railway station on June 22, and a case was registered by the GRP.
