11-Month-Old Baby Dies After Falling into Water-Filled Bucket: Maharashtra Police

The incident occurred in Amrut Nagar locality on a Thursday, and a case of accidental death was registered based on the information provided by the parents of the child, according to the official at the Mumbra police station. The girl, Asmabano Niyaz Siddiqui, was crawling in the house when she went near a bucket full of water kept outside the bathroom on Thursday afternoon.

She got up holding the bucket and fell into it while trying to peep in. Although her mother noticed her soon after, by that time the child was motionless, as stated by the official.

Her parents rushed the child to a local hospital, and she was later shifted to the Kalwa civil hospital where doctors declared her dead. The local police are currently investigating the incident.
