Employer Arrested After Indian Man Dies Working On Italian Farm: Government

The MEA official spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, has called for humane treatment of workers, expressing that all possible assistance is being provided to the family of Satnam Singh. He mentioned that Singh’s employer, who was supposed to provide medical care, has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. Jaiswal condemned this treatment and emphasized the need for humane treatment of workers, reaffirming the provision of all possible assistance to Singh’s family during a weekly briefing.

India has also raised the issue with Italy and urged prompt action against those responsible for Singh’s demise. Muktesh Pardeshi stated that the Indian Embassy in Italy is in contact with Singh’s family for consular help and the transportation of his body to India.
