US Envoy Eric Garcetti States America’s Future Lies With India

US envoy Eric Garcetti delivered a keynote address at the Unites Services Institution (USI) in Delhi on Thursday, emphasizing the need for a stronger partnership between India and the United States. In the backdrop of ongoing conflicts worldwide, including in Ukraine and Israel-Gaza, Garcetti highlighted the potential for the two countries to serve as an “unstoppable force for good in the world.”

During his address, he described the deep and ancient relationship between India and the US, underscoring the increasing breadth of their ties. The event, attended by defense experts, provided Garcetti with the platform to emphasize the significance of the US-India defense partnership and the potential impact it could have globally.

He stressed that the collaboration could contribute to addressing emergencies and serving as a powerful force against challenges in Asia and other parts of the world. He highlighted common interests in commerce, people, security, and the recent historic state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US in June 2023. The ambassador emphasized the need to enhance the security and stability of the region and deepen the US-India relationship, asserting that the stakes for technological innovation, climate action, and military cooperation have never been higher.

He concluded by describing the US-India defense partnership as one of the most consequential in the world.
