AAP’s Dispute with Tihar Jail over Arvind Kejriwal’s Weight Loss and Drop in Blood Sugar admin, July 14, 2024 Arvind Kejriwal has been in Tihar jail since April 1, following his release on bail for about three weeks. While AAP leaders have claimed that his health has been declining and that he has lost a significant amount of weight, the Tihar jail administration has refuted these claims, asserting that he is being provided with adequate medical care. According to the jail authorities, Mr. Kejriwal’s weight was recorded at 65 kg on April 1 when he entered Tihar’s Central Jail No. 2. However, when he was granted bail on May 10, his weight had decreased to 64 kg, and upon surrendering again on June 2, it had dropped further to 63.5 kg. Currently, his weight is reported to be 61.5 kg. The AAP leaders have alleged that there is a conspiracy to harm Mr. Kejriwal in jail and have raised concerns about his blood sugar levels dropping multiple times. In response, the jail report mentioned that his health is being closely monitored, and he is receiving the necessary treatment and diet as advised by the medical board. The jail authorities have accused AAP ministers and lawmakers of making baseless allegations, stating that such narratives aim to confuse and mislead the public with false information and ulterior motives. Additionally, they emphasized that Mr. Kejriwal’s blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight are being regularly monitored, and he is being provided with home-cooked food three times a day. In light of the ongoing disputes, AAP’s Sanjay Singh continues to express concerns about Mr. Kejriwal’s health, alleging that the aim of the BJP and the central government is to keep him in jail and manipulate his situation to create health issues. On the other hand, the BJP’s Delhi unit has accused the AAP leaders of staging a “drama” to mislead the court and secure bail for Mr. Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal
