Airlines are currently experiencing disruptions in their digital systems, leading to manual check-ins and handwritten boarding passes for passengers. This issue has impacted key airports such as Delhi and Bengaluru, resulting in long queues and slow check-ins for various airlines including Air India, Vistara, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air. Air India has cited a temporary impact on its digital systems due to a Microsoft outage, causing delays. SpiceJet and Akasa Air are also working to minimize disruptions, with both their online services being affected. Vistara has acknowledged facing technical challenges but is working to resolve them as soon as possible. In response to the situation at Delhi airport, efforts are underway to minimize inconvenience for passengers, while at Bengaluru airport, 90% of flights operating out of Terminal 1 have been impacted. This is attributed to a global outage with the Navitaire Departure Control System, affecting operations since July 19, 2024.

Passengers have experienced long waits and disruptions at major airports such as Hyderabad, prompting the directive for airport authorities and airlines to provide compassionate support, including extra seating, water, and food for affected passengers. The minister also emphasized the need for cooperation and patience, indicating that airlines and airport staff are working to keep passengers informed and provide assistance. Travellers have been advised to carry dry food items and water in case of extended waiting times, as airlines continue to post updates on social media to keep passengers informed about delays. Officials have urged passengers not to panic or become agitated, emphasizing that the residual effects of the global outage may extend for hours.
