AK Antony, Congress Veteran, Hopes His Son, Who Joined BJP, Loses Election

Congress veteran AK Antony’s son Anil Antony is contesting as BJP candidate in Kerala. AK Antony broke his silence to express that his son should lose, and the Congress candidate in the same constituency, Anto Antony, should win. The former Kerala Chief Minister highlighted the importance of coming forward to voice his stance in this election, emphasizing that it is a battle to protect the idea of India and its constitution.

AK Antony stressed that he separates family from politics, maintaining that his loyalty lies with the Congress. In response to his father’s comments, Anil Antony criticized the Congress and expressed confidence in his own victory in Pathanamthitta. AK Antony’s stance has provided a significant boost to the Congress, particularly following the defection of other party members to the BJP in Kerala.

Additionally, AK Antony condemned the BJP and the Left Front government in Kerala, urging people to support the Congress to uphold the Indian Constitution and counter the BJP-led government’s actions. He also criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Communist party’s stance on India’s Constitution, asserting that the Congress, along with B R Ambedkar, played a pivotal role in its creation. AK Antony predicted a diminished electoral performance for the BJP in Kerala and cautioned against the potential consequences of a BJP government for India’s democracy.

He called for the public to vote for the Congress to counter the rule of Narendra Modi and the RSS.
