Will Ukraine’s President agree to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to visit India? Volodymyr Zelensky’s response to NDTV

PM Modi’s invitation to Mr Zelensky came during their wide-ranging talks in Kyiv. At a media briefing, NDTV asked Mr Zelensky about PM Modi’s invitation. He expressed his happiness at the prospect of visiting India and emphasized the importance of not wasting time in building a strategic partnership.

Mr Zelensky referred to India as a “big and great country” and expressed his regret at not being able to spend more time there due to the ongoing war. He conveyed his willingness to visit India as soon as the Indian government and prime minister were ready to receive him. Mr Zelensky also viewed India as a potential key player in diplomatic influence and expressed his eagerness to engage with India further.

During their discussions, PM Modi highlighted India’s support for peace from the onset of the conflict in February 2022. He also expressed his personal commitment to contributing to a peaceful resolution of the crisis, emphasizing India’s stance against war and its association with the teachings of Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.
