BJP’s Actions Caused Haryana’s Downfall in Various Areas from Agriculture to Sports, Claims Bhupinder Hooda.

The former Chief Minister of Haryana stated in an interview that the state had been at the forefront in areas such as per capita income, investment, employment, law and order, and sports during the tenure of the Congress. However, he highlighted that the current situation in the state was concerning, with Haryana now ranking at the top for unemployment and being perceived as unsafe according to the Social Progressive Index. Additionally, he expressed concern for women wrestlers who had brought fame to the country but were struggling for justice, and mentioned the protests by farmers and government employees. He advocated for reverting to the Old Pension Scheme for government employees, asserting that it was a promise made by the Congress to the people of Haryana.

Moreover, he underlined the critical issue of farmers in the upcoming elections, noting the impact of the JJP on the Congress’ share of votes in the last election and the subsequent disillusionment of the farmers with the BJP and its allies. The former Chief Minister pointed to the unfulfilled promises made by the BJP regarding doubling farmers’ income by 2022, emphasizing that the cost of inputs had risen significantly without a corresponding increase in farmers’ income. He cited examples such as the rising costs of diesel, fertilizers, and pesticides. The upcoming single-phase elections are scheduled for October 1, with the results to be announced on October 4.

In the previous election, the BJP secured 40 seats, forming a government with the support of the JJP, which won 10 seats, while the Congress secured 31 seats.
