Champai Soren, Former JMM MLA Lobin Hembrom, Joins BJP admin, August 31, 2024 Lobin Hembrom recently joined the BJP, receiving membership from the party’s state chief, Babulal Marandi. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present at the event. Hembrom cited the lack of respect for senior leaders in the JMM as his reason for joining the BJP, expressing his commitment to the development of Jharkhand and the upliftment of tribals. During the event, Himanta Sarma emphasized the influx of leaders from the separate Jharkhand movement into the BJP, highlighting the party’s goal of overall state development and the elimination of Bangladeshi infiltrators. He called for the JMM and its leader, Hemant Soren, to join the BJP’s movement against infiltrators and move away from appeasement politics. Another JMM leader, Champai Soren, recently joined the BJP, citing dissatisfaction with the JMM’s current functioning and expressing a sense of “bitter humiliation.” Jharkhand BJP chief Babulal Marandi alleged that leaders who had contributed significantly to the JMM were leaving due to issues within the party. Prior to joining the BJP, Lobin Hembrom was disqualified from the Jharkhand assembly under the anti-defection law. He later contested the Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate, facing defeat.
