Police in Jharkhand report 11 deaths during physical tests for recruitment drive. admin, September 1, 2024 Physical tests under the Jharkhand excise constable competitive examinations began on August 22 in seven centers across Ranchi, Giridih, Hazaribag, Palamu, East Singhbhum, and Sahebganj districts. According to IG (Operations) Amol V Homkar, four deaths occurred in Palamu, two in Giridih, and two in Hazaribag, with one each in Ranchi’s Jaguar center, East Singhbhum’s Mosabani, and Sahebganj centers. Cases of unnatural death were registered, and investigations are ongoing. By August 30, a total of 1,27,772 aspirants had appeared for the physical tests, of which 78,023 passed. Mr. Homkar mentioned that adequate arrangements, including medical teams, medicines, ambulances, mobile toilets, and drinking water, were ensured at all centers. Allegations were made by the BJP youth wing that the deaths were due to mismanagement by the authorities.
