Bus Accident in Chhattisgarh Durg Leaves 12 Dead and 14 Injured

The incident took place at 8:30 pm on Tuesday, as reported by an official. Durg Collector Richa Prakash Choudhary shared that 12 passengers were killed and 14 were severely injured after a bus, filled with workers, fell into a ditch in Durg. According to Choudhary, the bus carrying laborers fell into a ditch near Kumhari around 8:30 pm. 12 individuals lost their lives, while 14 others were injured and taken to a hospital.

Twelve of the injured were referred and shifted to AIIMS (Raipur), with the remaining two receiving treatment at a private hospital. The Collector mentioned that all of them are currently in stable condition and are being provided with the best possible care. She also noted that the process of evacuating passengers trapped inside the bus was underway, and the cause of the accident was yet to be determined. Further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed sorrow over the incident. He took to his official handle to post about the bus accident, expressing sadness over the loss of 11 employees and praying for peace for the departed souls as well as strength for the bereaved families. Adequate arrangements were made for the treatment of the injured employees, and he wished them a speedy recovery.
