Another Tripura Horror: Alleged Gang-Rape of Class 5 Student Returning From School

The Belonia women police station received a report that a Class 5 student did not return home after school. Her father expressed concerns that she may have been kidnapped and sought help from the police and local media. However, the girl was found near her house on Saturday evening.

The police initiated an investigation and discovered that a 22-year-old man from the same area had left the girl near her house. An FIR was filed, and the man was charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. At present, no arrests have been made.

It was reported that the minor was taken to different locations, where she was sexually assaulted. In a separate case in North Tripura district, two men were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a minor. The accused were from the same district.

The girl was found unconscious on a road, taken to a hospital by locals, and her family was notified. Additionally, the police previously arrested two minors for the rape of a girl in South Tripura district.
