Drone Footage: Army’s Heavy Fire Takes Down Terrorist Seeking Cover in J&K

In an operation at Baramulla’s Chak Tapper Kreeri, three “hardcore” terrorists were shot dead and a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered, as confirmed by Commander of the Army’s 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Brigadier Sanjay Kannoth. The drone footage captured one of the terrorists running towards some trees near the compound wall of the house, falling to the ground, and crawling a few meters before stopping, while bullets hit the concrete walls, raising a cloud of white dust.

This operation is a significant success for the security forces, particularly given recent losses. However, in a separate encounter in Kupwara, two army soldiers were killed in action.

Brigadier Kannoth explained that they received specific intelligence about the presence of unidentified terrorists in Chak Tapar/Watargam, leading the forces to cordon off the location where they suspected the terrorists were hiding. Terrorists hiding in an old building fired upon their columns, and in accordance with standard operating procedures, the forces returned fire.

The operation continued into the morning, with the troops engaging the terrorists in a professional manner and neutralizing them without causing any collateral damage to civilian life and property. It is important to note that the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases starting September 18.
