Indian Man Assisting Russian Military During Ukraine Conflict Comes Back to India

Sufiyan, 22, hailing from the Narayanpet district, has returned home, putting an end to the prolonged anxiety of his family members who were concerned about his safety. He had been assisting the Russian military in its conflict with Ukraine. Upon his departure from India in November the previous year, he had been informed that he would undergo a three-month training period, after which his salary would increase. During his time abroad, he had been serving as support staff for the Russian military.

In an interview with PTI in July, Sufiyan’s brother Salman expressed hope for his sibling’s swift return following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia.
