Drone captures footage of terrorist taking cover in J&K, before being targeted by army fire.

An operation in Baramulla’s Chak Tapper Kreeri resulted in the killing of three “hardcore” terrorists and the recovery of a large quantity of arms and ammunition, according to Commander of the Army’s 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles Brigadier Sanjay Kannoth. The drone footage captured one of the terrorists running towards some trees near a compound wall, falling on the ground, and crawling a few meters before stopping. The operation is seen as a significant success for the security forces given recent losses. However, in a separate encounter in Kupwara, two army soldiers were killed in action.

Brigadier Kannoth disclosed that specific intelligence led to the forces cordoning off the location where the terrorists were hiding in Chak Tapar/Watargam. The terrorists, who were hiding in an old building, fired upon the columns of the security forces, prompting a return of fire. The operation continued into the morning, during which the troops engaged and neutralized the terrorists in a professional manner, without causing any collateral damage to civilian life and property. Meanwhile, the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled to be held in three phases, commencing on September 18.
